The Top 10 Best Nude Beauty Buys

Spring/summer 13 was all about stark contrasts. On one hand we saw techno glitter at Dior and haunting red eyes at Gareth Pugh whilst on the other Chanel and Balmain showed us pure, fresh-faced minimalism.  Models cascaded down the catwalk with flesh-toned eye shadows, muted lips and au-naturel nails.  A look that’s seamless, chic and easy to re-create at home. Kate Moss Cranks Up The Volume In New Campaign For Kérastase Styling Range

d0cb5 kate moss campaign Kate Moss Cranks Up The Volume In New Campaign For Kérastase Styling Range

Back in February the news dropped that Kate Moss would be the new face of Kérastase for their first ever styling range. At the time we got a couple of sneak peeks of Mossy’s mega blow dry, with a behind the scenes video which showed Kate’s trademark ‘I just woke up from a night in a Glastonbury tent’ hair, get transformed into thick, bouncy Hollywood curls. Well now her glossy campaign has finally landed and as we suspected – it’s a good’un.

We reckon her ‘lift vertige’ ‘do is the biggest Kate’s hair has ever, ever been – talk about VOLUME. Whereas in the campaign for ‘spray a porter’ Kate’s hair is styled in glossy Hollywood waves. Mossy was given the Hollywood treatment to model the new 11-piece range styling range inspired by skin-care formulas and textures.

It’s a big style shift for the super who usually keeps her hair in loose scruffy waves, but it turns out she likes the added lift as she said: ‘I am happy with the images — I like the way my hair is styled — all completely different styles from one another, but all representative of my unique style,’ said Moss. She added that she has used the haircare brand for years.

This new collection has two lines – Construct and Finish. Construct includes a beach spray, Spray à Porter, Lift Vertige, a root lifter, Forme Fatale, a blow dry gel, hair-thickening Mousse Bouffante and Boucles d’Art, a curl shaper. The Finish range includes Touche Finale, a shine serum, Short Mania, a semi-matte sculpting paste, Gloss Appeal, a shine spray, Laque Dentelle and Laque Couture, hairsprays and a dry shampoo called Powder Bluff. Wowza that’s a whole lotta products to transform us into Ms Moss.

The campaign marks the first ever consumer ads for Kérastase and will come out in August. Julien Bouzitat, vice president of marketing for Kérastase Paris and Shu Uemura Art of Hair said of Kate, ‘She is kind of a chameleon woman in that she [can sport] casual, cool beachy waves or a sophisticated full-on blowout. We think she’s going to be appealing to a lot of women.’ Well it’s certainly appealing to all of us at Grazia HQ.

Rooney Mara is Face of Calvin Klein’s New Downtown Fragrance

842de Rooney Mara CK Downtown Rooney Mara is Face of Calvin Kleins New Downtown Fragrance

Too-cool-for-school actress, Rooney Mara, has wrapped her latest role – as the face of the newest cK fragrance, Downtown. The campaign will include TV spots directed by David Fincher (who has already directed her kicking ass in the movie The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) and print ads shot by Jean-Baptiste Mondino – verrrrry nice.

It’s called Downtown as it’s a place identified with youthfulness, edginess and cool. The concept is about a young woman living in her own world, breaking away from the “expected,” according to Calvin Klein head honchos, who add that digital assets will include Instagram, Twitter and Facebook pushes.

Calvin Klein are experts in creating fragrances with that elusive ‘supercool’ factor, like unisex cKone – which is doubtless why they’ve chosen Rooney, with her slight hints of indie edginess combined with beautifully chiselled features and huge eyes – not one you’d imagine straightaway in a romantic rose garden advertising a girly perfume, but perfect in this context.

By launching the new women’s scent this summer, industry sources estimate that Calvin Klein could be cashing in to the tune of $120 million sales globally, according to WWD.

What will this Rooney-endorsed scent actually smell like, we hear you ask? The floral woody fragrance has top notes of Italian cedrat, bergamot, Tunisian neroli, green pear and watery plum; a heart of pink peppercorn, violet leaf and gardenia petals, and a drydown of Texan cedarwood, incense, vetiver and velvet musks. It’ll be available from July onwards, so you won’t have to wait too long to find out what it’s like  . . . .

Introducing Kate Moss The Hologram! Light Artist Chris Levine And Charlotte Tilbury Turn Mossy Into An Installation: Exclusive

871a0 kateweb 0 Introducing Kate Moss The Hologram! Light Artist Chris Levine And Charlotte Tilbury Turn Mossy Into An Installation: Exclusive

A: Something like this!

You may know Chris Levine for his ground-breaking 3-D representation of the Queen back in 2004, but it now seems the Canadian born light artist has chosen supermodel supreme Kate Moss as his latest leading lady. What is it with Mossy and artists? Everyone from Lucian Freud to Marc Quinn have given their artistic spin to Kate’s beauty, although we can pretty much guarantee you’ve never seen Kate like this before. Ever.

She’s Light, the name of Levine’s new laser installation featuring Mrs Hince herself was created in collaboration with makeup maestro Charlotte Tilbury, ahead of a large-scale holographic stereogram portrait of the supermodel that will be unveiled at Selfridges on June 17th to mark the opening of Charlotte Tilbury’s ‘Rock N Kohl’ makeup event taking place in store that week. She’s Light is will be shown to the public for the first time today at The Fine Art Society before making its big move to Selfridges on June 17th.

Although Levine’s new piece might not feature Queenie herself, there’s no denying that the 3D artist has more than effectively captured yet another living British icon. We think Kate looks absolutely amazing in the new portrait- with just a red lip, slick of eyeliner and a diamond necklace, Mossy proves her timeless beauty yet again.

Earlier this week we were lucky enough to catch up with old friends Charlotte and Kate who are clearly beyond excited about their most recent collaboration…

Moss said, “I love collaborating with artists, so when my dear friend Charlotte asked me to do this project with Chris I was really excited, as his work is so unique. Chris captures from the outside what you feel inwards. It is amazing how he captures your spirit.”

Charlotte Tilbury gushed, “I am so excited to be unveiling the final image in my Beauty Festival event at Selfridges. The shoot day was shrouded in magic, Kate was so still and so calm – I feel that, with this and the final image we have captured her soul. I can’t wait for everyone to see it!”

Charlotte Tilbury’s Makeup House Of Rock ‘N’ Kohl will be taking place in Selfridges from 17-23 June and the new portrait of Kate will form part of the window display. We can’t wait to see it for ourselves…

What are the Best Foods to Eat During Pregnancy

If you’re having your very first child then you’re surely full of mixed emotions, from excitement to worry. The first baby is always the scariest for new parents because you really feel like you are all grown up now. You always see your parents as being responsible and knowing what’s best, but now it’s your turn.

If this prospect seems scary and daunting to you then don’t worry – your parents have gone through it too so they will definitely offer you plenty of advice. Browsing through magazines like parent child can also be advantageous. Reading through online articles and blogs will also benefit you, but don’t get too carried away and read hundreds because this might confuse you on what you should or shouldn’t do. Be sure to relax and take plenty of breaks, maybe play a few online games over at cheekybingo or give your parents a call through skype so you can talk to them about any issues. But remember, it is an exciting time so above all, enjoy it.

We have put together a list of great foods you should try to eat during pregnancy. Remember that whatever you eat is also feeding your baby.

Avocados: These fruits are packed with folic acid which is vital for forming your baby’s brain and nervous system. It is also rich in potassium, vitamin C and vitamin B6. This essential vitamin not only helps your baby’s tissues and brain to develop, but it is also great for easing morning sickness.

Broccoli: This veg is full of vitamins A and C, as well as calcium which helps build strong bones for you and your baby.

Yoghurt: Yoghurt is full of calcium and folic acid which is great for your baby’s bones. In addition, it helps to ease sickness and it helps to prevent yeast infections.

Mangoes: If you’re not a great fan of vegetables then fruits like mango are great for getting your vitamin A and C.

Price Reduction on Your Perfect Shoes

As you may already have seen, this year I became an independent shoe stylist for Shoes of Prey,
an online shoe company that enables you to create your perfect shoes
online (yes, they’re available worldwide) using their amazing 3D shoe

Recently they’ve been playing with their pricing
model to try and make their beautiful shoes more affordable to more
women (I already think they’re amazing value anyway!). Prices used to
be set by heel height. They’re now changing this to 3 different base
prices (for flats, heels and shoe boots) plus a charge for extras, such
as special materials and decorations.

The good news is that, for the time being, there is only
a base price (no extra charges). They don’t know yet, when this will
change, but it will have to change soon — these prices are amazingly
low for such high quality custom designed, handmade shoes! See for yourself.

The Ombre Effect: Hair Experts Give Us Their Top Tips On How To Get The Look

Let us introduce you to hair colour’s hottest, newest trend- something we like to call ombré, aka, dip-dye’s cooler, more sophisticated big sister. You see, whilst dip-dye was great fun, and gave us free-will to experiment with some pretty cool colours, the overall look was just a little bit too harsh for our liking, leaving us feeling more My Little Pony than the festi-chic beauty we were going for. Well, all hail the ombré, ladies! Ombré literally means ‘graduation’ in French, which refers to the dark-to-light fade of colour that is used in the technique, where darker roots blend softly into lightened ends. This kind of colour works well on layered or choppy cuts, and the overall result is seriously chic. We love!

The red carpet has been awash as of late with celebs sporting the ombré trend, although when we spotted Kate Bosworth’s two-toned tresses last week at a private screening of Black Rock, we knew this trend was on to something…

Celebrity hairdresser Richard Ward (the genius behind K-Mid’s gorgeous tresses) says, “Ombré is a far more subtle take on dip-dying that works particularly well on long, layered hair.” We couldn’t agree more- in our opinion; the key lies in a soft, modern graduation of colour- nothing looks more dated than a harsh, dip-dyed effect.

a0166 aa2gt872 The Ombre Effect: Hair Experts Give Us Their Top Tips On How To Get The Look

Still tempted to take the ombré plunge? Earlier this week, we were lucky enough to catch up with JOICO Celebrity Colourist George Papanikolas (Kim Kardashian’s colourist) and Global Artistic Director Damien Carney, who gave us some exclusive ombré tips. Read on and learn, ladies…

1. Keep it Natural

Whilst the two-tone effect is a really low maintenance colour choice, it is important to make sure the result is as natural as possible- to get the best results, ask your colourist to keep the base colour within two ranges of your natural colour. If the colour transition between dark and light stops and starts, the contrast is too strong.

2. It’s All About the Prep

When you deepen your colour, or lighten your ends, it’s crucial to keep it in top condition.  Applying darker colour to damaged hair will cause quick fading.  It’s best to prepare the hair by treating it with JOICO K-Pak RevitaLuxe, to strengthen, repair, and soften the hair before and after the colour service.

3. Don’t Try This At Home

Don’t be tempted to try this at home! It will be a mess – only a professional hairdresser will understand what level, tone and contrast are required to create this look.

Ruth Crilly Of A Model Recommends Shows Us What’s Inside Her Makeup Bag

33cbe ruthcrilly1 Ruth Crilly Of A Model Recommends Shows Us Whats Inside Her Makeup Bag

Ruth Crilly has been an international model for over ten years, working alongside some of the world’s hottest beauty and fashion experts on campaigns for Patrick Cox, Olay and Myla to name a few. Over the course of her stellar career, Ruth has clearly picked up a trick or two from makeup artists, and now dishes out daily doses of expert advice on her blog, A Model Recommends, which receives over a million views every month.

We love Ruth’s fresh approach to beauty and couldn’t wait to catch up with her about the products she just can’t live without. Ruth says, “There’s always quite an eclectic mix going on in my makeup bag – I’m constantly trying out new things, but I also have my firm favourites. I like a very natural but perfected look, which is probably clear from the products below!”

0e277 makeup bag Ruth Crilly Of A Model Recommends Shows Us Whats Inside Her Makeup BagBy Terry Sheer Expert Foundation, £44: An all-time favourite. Very pricey, but, for me, worth every penny. It has a bouncy, youthful texture and smells utterly divine!

Clarins Eye Mask, £30.50: has become an almost daily treat! I’m pretty sure that I’m overusing in, but early mornings-plus-late nights mean that I definitely need extra help in the eye area.

Clarins Gloss Prodige in Waterlily, £17: I eat more of this than ends up on my lips, but I think that’s a compliment…

Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer in FBI, £12: A convenient draw-on concealer that blends smoothly and stays put all day. Makeup bag essential.

Chanel Powder Brush, £44: Plush and suitably chic for those “makeup on the Eurostar” sessions.

Dior Nudeskin Powder in Sunlight (002), £37: Two parts subtle bronze, one part healthy blush. Foolproof enlivening for the face.

Real Techniques Expert Face Blush, £11.99: Gives an absolutely flawless foundation finish. I’m at a loss without this now.

YSL Babydoll Mascara (Purple) – one of my “on trial” products because it doesn’t launch for a few weeks, yet, but it’s gorgeous. Full, dark, separated lashes and no annoying fall-out specks.
